Signe and Edgars live in an artsy neighbourhood. They are a couple of artists who have found both their hobby and their profession in art. Their daughter Elīza was the one who sought the help of IKEA as she feels that her father's studio is in dire need of professional help. Before, her father had a separate studio elsewhere but had to give that one up. Since then, in this room, once his daughter's bedroom turned storage room, there was always also a tiny corner for work. Elisa is 100 % sure her father needs a room to call really his. In this apartment, interior designer Chiara Effroi Lutteri wanted to show that it can be personal too. By working with open storage solutions in key areas, this sophisticated home tells you a lot about the person who lives here and what he loves.
The person living in this home is definitely no minimalist, though their ultra-organised apartment might have you thinking otherwise! It’s all down to the array of closed storage units throughout the house, keeping all but the absolute essentials and niceto-look-ats hidden from view.
Life gets busy, deadlines pile up and before you know it, another week has flown by. For these three, it didn’t take much discussion to decide that their living room needed to be the antithesis of life beyond their shared apartment. This is a space for connection: home to inspiring imagery, inviting textiles and – most importantly – endless restorative giggle sessions.
