From the 1st of January 2024, we have to properly sort not only glass, plastic and paper at home, but also bio waste. It's a small yet important change that will allow everyone to contribute to saving our planet's resources. Not sure how to do it in an easy and convenient way? Don't worry, we will help you out.

Count to three and add one more

Your home should have bins for sorting at least 4 types of waste: glass, paper, plastic, and biodegradables. Our HÅLLBAR bins are designed to meet different waste sorting needs, and they can be placed freestanding anywhere in your home or integrated in a cabinet or drawer.

Stack. Sort. Repeat!

If you think recycling is only for those whose kitchen is large enough for several bins, size has nothing to do with it! Even if you only have space for a single rubbish bin, you can recycle. Just get some SORTERA bins with lids. They are stackable, which means you can save space by placing them on top of each other.

Before you start...

...answer a couple of questions to yourself.

What kind of waste is mostly generated in your household?

Match the size of your sorting bins to the amount of rubbish you produce. In many households, the bin for plastic should be the biggest. And since you take out the biodegradable waste more frequently, there is no need to have a large bin for them.

How much space do you have?

With a large space and a suitable size of cabinets under the sink, you will be able to sort all kinds of waste in one place. If it turns out that the cabinet under the sink is too narrow or the water trap takes up too much space, then you should look for other solutions. For example, you can place a bin for biodegradables under the sink and move other bins for glass, plastic or paper elsewhere: in your pantry, garage, or hallway.

Next steps

We are more than sure that you can deposit every item of packaging or food in the correct bin, but do not stop there. Go further: reduce food waste, avoid buying packaged foods, stop using plastic bags and other single-use items. The less waste you produce, the easier it is to sort them and recycle.
