What guarantee is provided?

The extent of the guarantee given for each product is described alongside each product.

Duration of guarantee

Each warranty lasts for the number of years stated on each product, starting from the day of purchase.

What will IKEA do to correct the problem? 

IKEA will examine the product and decide if it’s covered under this guarantee. IKEA will then, at its choice, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. In these cases, IKEA will be responsible for the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair staff that IKEA incurs, provided that the product is accessible for repair without IKEA incurring additional expenditure to gain access. This will not apply in cases where repair work has not been authorized by IKEA. Any defected parts removed in the course of repair works will become the property of IKEA. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. IKEA will decide at its discretion, what will constitute an appropriate replacement.

Conditions for the guarantees

The guarantees are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.

Exclusions

The guarantees do not apply to products that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. The guarantees do not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. The guarantees do not apply if products have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment or if the products have been used for non-domestic purposes (unless it is authorized under the specifications of the product). The guarantee do not apply to: plants, bulbs, batteries, textile and products from the half clearance department. The guarantees do not cover consequential or incidental damages. General legal rights

This guarantee gives you specific legal rights. This guarantee does not, in any way, affect your customer‘s rights given to you by law.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

What is covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee is valid for all bathroom mixer taps, BROGRUND and VALLAMOSSE thermostatic shower mixers, FOTINGEN shower trays and OPPEJEN shower screen, shower door and hinged bath shower screen.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
The aerator of the mixer tap is replaceable using the part for which the guarantee does not apply.

What is covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee is valid for all BROGRUND, VALLAMOSSE, VOXNAN, KOLSJÖN, and LILLREVET shower heads, hand showers, riser rails and hoses.

What is covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship in the following components of the mattresses and/or bed bases:

  • polyurethane foam core in foam mattresses,
  • wooden frame, slats and springs in bed bases.

The guarantee is valid from the date of purchase at IKEA. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase. This guarantee applies to domestic use only.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee does not apply to all mattress pads, sofa-bed mattresses and childrens mattresses.

PAX/KOMPLEMENT wardrobes and interior organisers

What is covered under this guarantee? 
Clothes and shoe storage and covers defects in material and workmanship in the following components of the PAX/KOMPLEMENT wardrobes and interior organisers:

  • frames,
  • doors,
  • hinges,
  • sliding doors and sliding door mechanism,
  • dividers for frames, shelf inserts and sectioned shelves,
  • interior organisers.
What is not covered under this guarantee?
KOMPLEMENT inserts for jewellery, KOMPLEMENT insert with 4 compartments, KOMPLEMENT inserts with compartments, KOMPLEMENT dividers for pull-out trays, KOMPLEMENT boxes, KOMPLEMENT drawer mats, KOMPLEMENT pull-out mirrors and hangers.

What is covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers all the following parts of the METOD kitchen system:

  • cabinet frames (except for TUTEMO, VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEN),
  • fronts,
  • UTRUSTA hinges,
  • MAXIMERA and EXCEPTIONELL fully-extending drawers,
  • UTRUSTA shelves of tempered glass and melamine,
  • legs and plinth,
  • cover panels,
  • deco strips/mouldings,
  • sinks (except FYNDIG sinks),
  • UTRUSTA dish drainers for wall cabinets.
What is not covered under this guarantee?
UTRUSTA wire baskets, BEHJÄLPLIG sliding-hinge fully int dishwasher, TUTEMO, VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEN cabinet frames, ENHET kitchen system are nor covered under this guarantee. For these products, a guarantee is valid for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. For UTRUSTA electrical push openers, a guarantee is valid for five (5) years from the date of purchase. For handles, knobs, KNOXHULT kitchen system and SUNNERSTA mini-kitchen, a guarantee is valid for two (2) years from the date of purchase.

Appliances

What is covered under this guarantee?
The guarantee covers faults of the appliance, which have been caused by faulty construction or material faults from the date of purchase from IKEA. This guarantee applies to domestic use only. The exceptions are specified under the headline “What is not covered under this guarantee?” Within the guarantee period, the costs to remedy the fault e.g. repairs, parts, labour and travel will be covered, provided that the appliance is accessible for repair without special expenditure. Without these conditions, the requirements provided in the EU directive 99/44/EB and in the national law are applicable. Replaced parts of the product will become the property of IKEA.

Which appliances are covered under this guarantee?
The free five-year (5) guarantee is valid for all domestic IKEA kitchen appliances, except for LAGAN and TILLREDA. For appliances named LAGAN and TILREDA, a guarantee is valid for two (2) years from the date of purchase.

How long this guarantee is valid?
The guarantee is valid for five-year (5) from the date of purchase of products at IKEA store. The guarantee for LAGAN and TILREDA appliances is valid for two years (2) from the date of purchase. If, within the guarantee period, the services are executed, the guarantee for appliances and new parts is not extended.

Who will execute the service?
The designated service company will provide the service through its one service operations or authorized service partner network.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
  • Normal wear and tear products and their parts;
  • Deliberate or negligent damage, damage caused by failure to observe operating instructions, incorrect installation or by connection to the wrong voltage, damage caused by chemical or electro-chemical reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage including but not limited to damage caused by excessive lime in the water supply, damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions.
  • Consumable parts including batteries and lamps.
  • Non-functional and decorative parts which do not affect normal use of the appliance, including any scratches and possible colour differences.
  • Accidental damage caused by foreign objects or substances and cleaning or unblocking of filters, drainage systems or soap drawers.
  • Damage to the following parts: ceramic glass, accessories, crockery and cutlery baskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals, lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs, casings and parts of casings. Unless such damages can be proved to be due to production faults.
  • Cases where no fault could be found during a technician’s visit.
  • Repairs not carried out by our appointed service providers and/or an authorised service contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used.
  • Repairs caused by installation which is faulty or not according to specification.
  • The use of the appliance in a non-domestic environment i.e. professional use.
  • Transportation damages. If a customer transports the product to their home or other address, IKEA is not liable for any damage that may occur during transport. However, in case of IKEA delivery of the product to the customer’s delivery address, then eventual damages to the product that occurs during this delivery will be covered by IKEA, (but not under this guarantee).
  • Cost for carrying out the initial installation of the IKEA appliance. These restrictions do not apply to fault-free work carried out by a qualified specialist using our original parts in order to adapt the appliance to the technical safety specifications of another EU country.

What is covered under this guarantee?
The 10-year guarantee is valid for all kitchen mixer taps at IKEA, except for KALLSJÖN and LAGAN. This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers defects in material and workmanship in all kitchen mixer taps. For mixer taps named KALLSJÖN and LAGAN, a guarantee is valid for two (2) years from the date of purchase.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
The guarantee does not apply for the products that have been used in a corrosive environment.

  • moving parts.
Moving parts are components with moving functions or adjustable functions. The guarantee covers the intended function for the components of the castors, gas cylinder, mechanism, armrest and back rest adjustment mechanism.

How long is the guarantee valid?
The guarantee applicable to ALEFJÄLL, FLINTAN, GRÖNFJÄLL, HATTEFJÄLL, JÄRVFJÄLLET, LIDKULLEN, MARKUS, SMÖRKULL, TROLLBERGET, FJÄLLBERGET, LÄKTARE, LÅNGFJÄLL and MULLFJÄLLET office chairs is valid for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. A proof of purchase is a sales receipt.

How long is the guarantee valid?
The guarantee for MITTZON, TROTTEN, RODULF, IDÄSEN, GALANT, BEKANT and HÄLLAN desk series and storage system is valid for ten (10) years from the date of purchase at IKEA store. A proof of purchase is a sales receipt.

What is covered under this guarantee?
The guarantee covers defects in materials, workmanship and function on all main parts in the BROR storage system.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
The following products are not covered under the guarantee:
  • BROR trolley,

This guarantee does not apply to products in the BROR storage system that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. This guarantee does not apply if the products have been placed outdoors, in prolonged direct sunlight or in a humid environment e.g. bathroom.

How long is this guarantee valid?
The guarantee for the BROR storage system is valid for 10 years from the date of purchase. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.
