As the nights become longer and darker, we all long for cosiness, warmth, and the company of our closest ones. To create a cozy feeling in the darkest of seasons, and bring families together, we wanted to do something special – which is why we lit up the Baltic Train Station with STRÅLA stars. The warm glow of the stars will guide you home and bring cheer to whoever passes the station.
Heartwarming and festive
The first sight of twinkling, shimmering festive lights means the most beautiful time of the year is here. To create some fairytale-like magic this season, we put up altogether 132 STRÅLA stars in the Baltic station to illuminate people's way to their loved ones, bringing some festive spirit to the city of Tallinn.
A starry train station
It's not the first time that the shining IKEA stars would be seen in Tallinn. Last year we decorated the windows of a 1950s apartment building at the intersection of Tartu Road and Liivalaia Street, but this time we decided to warm the hearts of those who are embarking on a journey home or arriving here. The star-shaped STRÅLA lampshades illuminate the windows of the Baltic Rail Station's main building and its waiting room for the traveling passengers.
The beauty of light
The tradition of decorating your windows with different decorative lighting is very common in Scandinavian countries. The STRÅLA star-shaped lamp shades fill your home with light inside and also attract passers-by outside. Combine the lampshade with STRÅLA cord set or base and hang or place the star in the window. And don't forget to add a LED bulb that consumes up to 85% less energy and lasts 10 times longer than regular incandescent bulbs.
The historical Baltic Station
The Baltic Train Station celebrated its 150th birthday last year, being the main train station in Estonia. With its long history, it has become an important landmark for the citizens. In the main building, there is a waiting room for rail passengers who will be now able to enjoy the light, warmth, and joy of the upcoming Christmas time, whether they travel near or far.
Waiting under the stars
We know what it feels like when you miss your family, a warm cup of tea, and some long hugs to top it off. That's why we wanted to make the passengers' waiting room in the Baltic station a little cosier. The STRÅLA stars are perfect for stargazing, reminding you that you will be home soon... Wherever that home might be.
The 132 STRÅLA stars will shine in the Baltic Station until the beginning of January.
