Bringing joy and a little bit of spring on your Easter table

Like most holidays, Easter is equal parts feast, family and friends – and spending more time at the table, which is reason enough to give more attention to its decoration. Ready to make festive meals together just that bit more special?

First, take a look around the room where your Easter table will be set. If your home is modern in style, choose clean shapes of crockery, neutral colours and don’t go overboard with accessories. Traditional interiors can be finished with richer décor: patterned table textiles, ornate plates, tinted or faceted glasses.

Delicious decorations

Not only crockery, flowers or textiles, but also food can be a striking element of your table décor. Perhaps you already know what colours you’ll use for your Easter eggs? Then match the rest of your decorations to them. Egg-shaped candies or a chocolate bunny can also add to the festive look. Put the chocolate eggs into baking cups and arrange them on the cake stand, right next to the chocolate bunny.
 

Sustainably sentimental

Easter décor is not meant for guests or impressive photos, but first and foremost for yourself. So, think about what makes you happy and don’t rush to make a shopping list without first seeing what you already have at home or at your parents’ and grandparents’. Old crystal glasses or an inherited dinner set can go nicely with new table runners and chair cushions, while grandma’s linen tablecloth and crochet napkins kept for special occasions are sure to add a festive touch to modern cutlery and plates.

The spring is served

You can borrow colours for your Easter table from the awakening nature. Combine greenish table mats with light wood boards and trays, choose plates in yellow, beige or white, and show some special attention to your guests by decorating their chairs. Matching chair cushions and cotton baskets with greenery and sweets will do the job indeed.

With a bit of creativity, even simple napkins can be a welcome addition to your festive table setting. Tie them around an egg dish leaving long ends to resemble cheerful bunny ears.
